If Adults Acted Like 3 Year Olds: A Bit of Parenting Themed "Art Therapy"

Three is proving to be my favourite age so far. No, I'm not being sarcastic, I'm being serious.  This age of knowing how to communicate verbally, being able to really enjoy activities, and knowing how to use a toilet has  been the most enjoyable age by far.

Of course, the independence and autonomy a 3-year-old has can be the most awesome thing about them, but also the worst.  As a stay-at-home mom, I'm basically in a position where I'm constantly trying to keep a tiny and sometimes unreasonable being safe and this makes me feel like a nasty jail guard at times.

This last week has been particularly crazy; full of meltdowns, tantrums, demands that I can't possibly meet (some impossible, some completely unsafe), etc.  This afternoon Aias sat me down and DEMANDED I draw while he played.  He didn't want to watch, he didn't want to sit with me, he didn't even want to tell me what to draw, but he didn't want me reading a book and didn't want me washing dishes and didn't want me playing with him, he wanted me to draw.  So instead of arguing, I drew.

Yeah, I know, 3-year-olds do great things, too.  And yeah, the world would be better if adults did things the way some 3-year-olds do, this is just sort of where I was this afternoon :)

In general if you are willing to put your name to something, I'll post it, but remember to keep your words sweet, because someday you may have to eat them.
