Easy Peasy Flannel Pants

A few weeks ago I got it into my head that I finally wanted to make something larger than 6x6 inches.  I had picked up a bunch of fabric at Our Social Fabric and because it was so cheap ($2 a metre!) I figured I could finally take the chance. I decided I would attempt to make some pants for Aias.

My first attempt was to use a pattern that I had downloaded from Craftsy.  The pattern was ok, but I grossly underestimated the size and ended up making super tight leggings instead. Ooops.  I altered the pattern a bit and my next pair looked like MC Hammer pants.  It was funny, but not really practical.

Friends suggested I not bother with a pattern, and just find a pair of pants that fit Aias really well and trace them on the fabric.  I used a combination of that suggestion and this tutorial and had great success.

Not my fave pattern, but a great fit!
I made two additional pairs for And Mommy Makes 3's kids.
