Let's talk parenting taboos: Rufus Griscom + Alisa Volkman

It's Friday night and I have writer's block. I thought it would be a good time to share a really awesome TED talk with you. This TED talk, "Let's talk parenting taboos" by Rufus Griscom + Alisa Volkman, creators of Babble, is pretty rad.

They talk about four parenting taboos:

1.  You can't say you didn't fall in love with your baby in the first minute

2.  You can't talk about how lonely having a baby can be

3.  You can't talk about your miscarriage

4.  You can't say your "average happiness" has declined

Watching this video is a fantastic way to spend 20 minutes on a Friday night.

I've adopted the same commenting policy as seen here at Off Beat Mama (http://offbeatmama.com/about/comments). I won't post comments if they strike me as attacking, judgmental, rude, or unproductive. In general if you are willing to put your name to something, I'll post it, but remember to keep your words sweet, because someday you may have to eat them.
