Aias and Daddy Build a Snowman

A Sad Goodbye

"If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever." A family photo with Opa. Aias walked up to him and said "bye bye." It was bittersweet.

Our Sweet Mini Dome

It was a LOT of work, but not super difficult. Basically we bought some 1 inch nuts and bolts, some 1/4 inch tubing, a leather punch, and 16 1/8 (I think) 4 foot dowels. We had to make all the connectors by hand, so we cut the tubing, then poked holes in them and connected them using the nuts and bolts. I would do it again, but I'd find something a lot stronger than the leather punch... you have to punch it on both sides and after a while your hands hurt. It was about 220 holes to be punched! The tubing was this cold water irrigation tubing, and it was amazing for this purpose. So yes, we made all the connectors and then cut the dowel with a pair of scissors and constructed the mini dome.

We used a program Morgan wrote to make sure we used the dowel in the most efficient way. Out of 16 dowels that were 4 feet long, we only had 50 centimeters of waste!

The connectors took 80% of the time. Putting it together would have been so difficult for me, but Morgan is very diagram minded. We admittedly messed it up the first time we put the thing together, but it was super easy to undo.
