Happy Birthday Opa, We Miss You

Today is my grandfather's birthday, he would have been 73. It's his first birthday since he passed away at the end of January. I've been thinking of him and missing him all day. My sister brought these lovely flowers to his grave site, which is only a few minutes away from her home.

I'm so grateful we were able to go home this past Christmas so Opa could meet Aias.  In the short time they spent together, Aias took to him immediately.  There are only a few people he took to so well, including my sister Jessy.  Aias loved him immediately.

Today I was looking through some photos from when we were younger, and I came across the photo below.  It looks like Opa how I will remember him.  The Opa in my memory is strong and healthy and very much alive.

Goodbye, Opa.  We love and miss you so much.
