Dodecahedron with an Internal Icosahedron

Our latest dome, a dodecahedron with an internal icosahedron. This one was a lot of work for a few reasons. First, Morgan had to do lots of the math out on paper because a calculator doesn't exist on the Internet to indicate the measurements of the orange struts.  Second, while it was easy to drill holes in the struts using the family Dremel drill, we used tiny zap straps as connectors.  If you screw up with a zap strap, you have to cut it and start over.  What a process. In the end, totally worth it.

Onto the pictures!

I've adopted the same commenting policy as seen here at Off Beat Mama (http://offbeatmama.com/about/comments). I won't post comments if they strike me as attacking, judgmental, rude, or unproductive. In general if you are willing to put your name to something, I'll post it, but remember to keep your words sweet, because someday you may have to eat them.
